The Chicago Bears made a statement by trading for wide receiver DJ Moore before last year's NFL draft,
while another elite-level standout is likely to join the squad in the coming months.
ESPN analyst Aaron Schatz recently made the bold prediction that Chicago will seek and eventually sign free agency wide receiver Mike Evans this summer
to build around the young quarterback he predicts will captain the Bears attack in 2024 and beyond.
"The Bears will use the No. 1 pick on a new quarterback and invest in that quarterback by signing Mike Evans, one of the top free-agent wide receivers,
" Schatz wrote on January 7 of this year. "Evans has 10 straight 1,000-yard seasons and would pair nicely with DJ Moore in this offense."
Mike Evans, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver, will become a free agency in 2024.
Evans' stretch of 1,000-yard seasons is second only to Hall of Fame wideout Jerry Rice, who had 11 consecutive years from 1996 to 2006 as a member of the San Francisco 49ers
